  • Rome’s 2010 Marathon & Rome’s 2010 “Stracittadina”

Posted on January 10th, 2010 admin 3 comments

Over 10,000 runners already registered for the 41km-marathon to be held in Rome next  March the 21st. Most of them are foreigners; 5,240 (15 per cent more than in 2009), compared with 5,105 Italians (five per cent more than 2009). Given these data it is likely that registrations will reach last year’s threshold of 15,000.

Rome’s 2009 marathon was the world’s sixth fastest (according to both the finishing time of the top ten men and women runners). It ranked behind London, which was top of the list, but ahead of New York, which came 11th. Rome was 15th in terms  of  number of people who crossed the finish line of the marathon.
