Count down for traditional winter sales in Rome! Tomorrow the most awaited event of the year will start! Hundreds of eager shoppers will line up and “box”outside the stores in the hope of finding the ultimate bargain.
Hundreds the place to go! All the big-name fashion designers can be found in the Quadrilatero, close to Spanish Steps in Via Condotti, Via Frattina and Via del Babuino. If you prefer equally elegant shops, on a smaller scale, head for Via del Governo Vecchio and surroundings amongst the most fashionable shopping streets in Rome.
Many stores will start the day with queues of bargain hunters.
Over the public holiday weekend (January Sunday the 6th will be indeed the day of the Befana or Epiphany in Italy) when the Romans are usually out of town, many clients in the more expensive areas will be bargaining hunters from Russia, Japan and the Middle East. Save the dates:
Saturday September 8th: la Notte Bianca (the White Night)
Friday September 7th: aspettando la Notte Bianca (waiting the Notte Bianca).
For Saturday September 8th the programme includes performances, concerts, plays, dance shows, magic and circus arts, contemporary art installations, fireworks, even a concert of church bells, all characterised by tradition and experimentation, merging together for one night an ensemble of artistic capabilities, cultural scope, knowledge, techniques and ways of expressing art and entertainment, all very different one from the other, and that is both multifaceted and harmonious.
The Notte Bianca will fill the streets, the squares, the monuments, museums, private art galleries, shops, the theatres as well as places of art and culture in the entire city, from the centre to the suburbs.

This luxury Rome B&B in Campo de Fiori offers quality accommodation comparable to Rome 4 star hotels. Read what our guest Maggie wrote:
“The Cappellari B&B stay could not have been nicer. The hostess, Carlina, was very welcoming and kind. She spoke excellent English and offered information about the city that we found very useful The facility is located only two blocks from Campo Fiori, which is a lively square with flower and fruit markets, as well as several Ristorante and Cafe’s. We were also able to walk to many interesting areas of Rome with ease, including the Vatican, the Forum and Colosseum, the Capitoline Museum, the river and Piazza Navona, another very lively square quite nearby.
