This was our first time in Rome and our second experience of renting an apartment abroad. Our experience was really really fantastic. We were coming back from a cruise to the Mediterranean and our ship arrived back in Rome at around 7:00 am. Had we made a reservation in a hotel, we would have had to check our luggage and, despite our exhaustion, go "do" something. Our hosts really made us feel at home right from the start. Our amazing host was up and outside waiting to receive us at 9:00 am when we arrived at Lungotevere Apartment. The apartment was nicely decorated, extremely well stocked, immaculate and was far nicer than what we expected. We had a very spacious living room and bedroom, a comfortable bed, a nice dining area on the balcony, an indoor dining room and kitchen. The shower was really good size - which we especially appreciated, since we could barely fit into the shower in a previous apartment we had rented through a different agency. There were also really good towels and plenty of toilet paper,etc. We asked about a "farmer's market" and Francesco offered to drive us to the local fresh market - wow, we were blown away that he did that for us. He also gave us bus passes to get home. We were very impressed by how thoughtful he and his wife Alessandra are. We also appreciated that there were typed instructions on how to get to the major sites by bus or metro waiting for us on our dining table. The location of the apartment was especially good for seeing Vatican City, but we managed to easily get to the Spanish Steps and several other sites. The only challenge for me at this place was that there was no farmer's market right near by, however, there was a nice bakery and traditional market a short block away. We were also impressed that our hosts had cake and biscuits already there to welcome us, with some condiments and food for cooking. Overall, this was an extremely positive experience that exceeded our expectations. We felt that our hosts made us feel welcome the way we would welcome good friends to our home. We are very grateful and would definitely highly recommend this to anyone who is thinking about going the apartment route. Thank you
