Nearby restaurants are many. Just down on the street is Taverna Cestia, frequented by a mix of Italians and expats. Within a two or three-minute walk are also La Villeta restaurant, three cafes, two bakery/sandwich shops, a pharmacy, a grocery store, a market and many small shops. Five minutes away is Testaccio with the big market (authentic Roman-watching), and many, many wonderful restaurants and shops. We are near the metro and the bus lines 60, 75, 3, 118, 175 and 23 (goes to Vatican area).  Within a five to ten-minute walk are the Aventine Hill, with keyhole and Parco degli Aranci (citrus trees and spectacular views plus good for little kids-no dogs allowed). Ten minutes away are the Circus Maximus, the Bocca della Verita and the Colosseum and in fifteen minutes you can be in Piazza Venezia, the Forum, the Ghetto, San Pietro in Vincoli.
